Job Description
Hireco is a leading vehicle leasing and maintenance provider based across the UK and Ireland which currently manages over 8,000 assets. With over 40 years of experience, Hireco are specialist in the trailer, truck and van market.
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar role.
The Job Role:
Experienced HGV Trailer Technician Required - based out of our Depot in Stanford le hope. Carrying out Trailer Inspections / MOT Preparations, Defects and Quality Control Inspections.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections, servicing, and repair of trailers to VOSA and company standards.
- Completion of defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
- Conduct on-site maintenance checks, initial vehicle diagnostics, and minor repairs as a Mobile technician.
- Ensuring the correct and effective safe use of all tools and ancillary equipment.
- Completing all job cards and compliance paperwork to a high standard ensuring the correct information is submitted in a timely manner.
- Always provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards carrying out any other duty deemed reasonable by management.
- Complete any additional training when necessary.
Job Skills Required:
- Must have a Level 3 qualification with Heavy Good Vehicles (experience working with trailers is essential)
- Self- motivated, proactive problem solver, excellent communicator, and able to work independently while meeting strict targets.
- Ability to understand and complete written paperwork required.
- Ability to work on double-deck trailers preferable but not essential.
- Driving Licence essential
Experience:
- HGV Technician: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
- Irtec Certification (preferred)
- IMI Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle and Repair (preferred)
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Flexitime
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
