Explained by our Head of New Fleet, Scott McMinigle
Top quality trucks are extremely important to the welfare and the day to day lives of drivers, which is why at Hireco we only provide the best by swapping out the old for the new. The first batch of the new MAN TGX, 510bhp, Enhanced specification trucks will be landing at Hireco in December, with even more following late in the 1st quarter of 2022. MAN have constantly proven to be the best trucks on the market which is supported by their TGX winning International Truck of the Year 2021. This is the eighth time that this accolade has been awarded to MAN.
Through communicating with our current customers, it became clear that the new MAN models were better for driver welfare. According to MAN themselves the reason for this being their focus on “the driver’s workplace with its clearly arranged, fully digital display instruments, the intuitively operable driving and multimedia functions incorporated into the new, generously adjustable multifunction steering wheel and the innovative, distraction-free rotary pushbutton control function of the MAN SmartSelect system”. In addition to this, all MAN products utilise the widely renowned Microlise Platform as telematics to improve driving quality and skill. Furthermore, not only are the new MAN trucks massively improving driver welfare, they are also financially beneficial. With the “outstanding efficiency of the Euro 6d driveline of the new MAN TGX, which offers fuel savings of up to 8.2 percent compared to the previous version”. During Hireco fuel trials it was proven that these fuel savings could save customers upwards of £4,000 per annum (£80 per week) on fuel costs.
