Hireco are driving the sustainability revolution

Awarded Silver Accreditation status by EcoVadis

Recently Hireco have taken a major step forward in their mission to a more sustainable future. They are extremely pleased to announce that they have been awarded the Silver accreditation status by EcoVadis. Head of UK Fleet at Hireco, Scott McMinigle said “the EcoVadis score for Hireco put us in the top 25% of respondents worldwide. We are delighted with this result, but we are not stopping here. We still have work we want to do to further raise the level of our Accreditation.”

EcoVadis are the worlds most trusted business sustainability assessors, and when Hireco recognised that they needed to do more, they collaborated with EcoVadis on their journey to becoming more sustainable. EcoVadis have tens of thousands of companies in which are partnered with them, and collaborate on sustainability through benchmarks, performance improvement tools and using a universal scorecard. Hireco are hoping to influence and inspire the logistics industry to take the leap and join the sustainable revolution.

New Fleet Manager, Bethany Harvey, who works alongside Scott said “We see this as the beginning of our journey to a more sustainable future. When we are communicating with major companies, we are not only able to talk about green credentials but prove where we are on the journey and what we have achieved to date. We know from talking to them, that our major customers are more likely to trust companies with a proven commitment to corporate social responsibility.”

Environmental, social, and governance issues (ESG), play a major part in Hireco’s future strategies. They intend to take a leadership position with their customers and suppliers to deliver increased fuel and CO2 emission savings, as part of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach.

““Sustainability is the key to Hireco’s future. For every walk of life where you are buying something as a business or supplying a service you will have to prove that you comply, whether it is through EcoVadis or a similar organisation. Hireco are committed to the concept in which environmental intelligence influences every business decision – improving economies, people’s lives, and the planet.””
